The yard
My passion, your feelings
Dolphin Marine is a small yard by headcount and a big one by what it manages to do: design, moulds, lamination, fit-out, paint and service all sit under the same roof in Melpignano.

Mike Pasca, founder
I was six years old and building galleons out of Lego. At eighteen I decided those galleons could be real, and I opened the yard.
The Open 21 was born in the first months, and the orders followed. Two years later came the Open 21 with a cabin. Then the 6.20 metre open, the 7.50 open, the 7.50 in category C for ten people, the 7.50 cabin boat in category B for eight and the 7.50 walk around for nine: those last ones are what made the yard known beyond Salento.
I am a perfectionist and every model is worked down to the detail: the choice of resins, of fabrics, of paint. When the sea gets up, my boats seem to run on cushions of air — you barely feel the wave under the hull.
I work as the designer, the draughtsman and the builder, and I stay with the customer from the first pencil line to the launch. Because every boat, while it is in the yard, is my boat.
How we work
Quality
The project built from nothing, from the mould to the launch.
Safety
Hulls tested at sea, and real cruising comfort when the sea gets up.
Exclusivity
Every boat different from the others. Every single one.
Talking to the builder
You speak to the person who builds the boat, not to a sales office.
The questions we get asked most
How long has Dolphin Marine been going?
The yard has been working in Melpignano, province of Lecce, for over twenty years, and it has always built in house: no model is assembled elsewhere.
How many people work in the yard?
We are a small team, and that is a choice. It means whoever answers the phone knows how far along your boat is without having to ask someone else.
Can I see boats being built?
Yes, and it is the visit we recommend: understanding how a boat is made inside, before it is closed up, changes the way you choose one.
Tell us about the boat you have in mind
One phone call, two questions about how you use the sea, and we will tell you straight away whether we can build it, how, and how long it takes. No obligation, no sales talk.
