The Dolphin Marine Raptor 20 under way in the sea off Salento

Boatyard · Melpignano, Salento

Boats built to measure, one at a time

Since 2001 we have designed and built fibreglass boats from 6 to 7.5 metres. No two leave the shed alike: yours is drawn around the way you actually use the sea.

New from the yard

Raptor 20

New hull, a cockpit that runs clear from stern to bow, a table that disappears when you do not need it and a proper sun pad forward. This is the day boat people had been asking us for: light to tow, comfortable to live on, simple to look after.

The boats

Five models, no two boats alike

Every hull starts from the same mould and ends up different: engines, deck layout, upholstery, instruments, colours. What you see here is the starting point.

Why a yard and not a showroom

The person who builds your boat is the one who hands it over

We do not assemble boats made elsewhere. Here we design, mould, laminate, paint the hulls and put them in the water. If something does not convince you, we change it before it is finished — not afterwards, and not "let us ask head office".

  • Your design, not a catalogue

Tell us how you use the boat — fishing, family, long trips, diving — and we draw the deck around that.

  • Materials you can see

Resins, fabrics and paints are chosen together and put in your hands before we order them.

  • Service round the corner

Repairs, servicing, winter storage and pre-season checks in the same shed where the boat was born.

  • Genuinely accessible

For years we have been making the changes that let people board, helm and step ashore on their own, wheelchair included.

Something we care about

Board, helm and step ashore on your own. In a wheelchair too.

We have specialised in the modifications that make a boat genuinely usable by someone with a mobility disability: access, passageways, controls, helm positions. It is not an option off a price list — it is a project built around the person.

The questions we get asked most

Where is the Dolphin Marine boatyard?

In Melpignano, province of Lecce, at Zona Industriale Asse Spina 13. We are in the heart of Salento, half an hour from Otranto and from Gallipoli.

How much does a Dolphin Marine boat cost?

Prices start at €14,000 + VAT for the Dolphin 21 Open, engine not included: you choose the engine, brand and power, up to the hull’s rated limit. For the other models the price depends on engine, fit-out and finishes: after a chat or a visit to the yard you get a written, itemised quote.

Do you build custom boats or only standard models?

Both, but customisation is the point of the yard: we start from one of our five hulls and change the deck, the engines, the fit-out and the finishes to suit how you will use the boat.

How long does a new boat take?

It depends on the model and how far you customise it. After a visit to the yard we give you a real date, not an optimistic one: we would rather say three months and deliver in three months.

Do you repair boats built by other yards?

Yes. Fibreglass repairs, servicing, pre-season checks, interior and exterior fit-outs and inboard-to-outboard conversions are done on any boat.

Can I visit the yard?

Of course, and it is the best way to understand how we work. Call ahead on +39 347 27 156 60 so Mike is free rather than in the middle of laminating.

Tell us about the boat you have in mind

One phone call, two questions about how you use the sea, and we will tell you straight away whether we can build it, how, and how long it takes. No obligation, no sales talk.
